Contour ControlOne of the biggest design issues we have at DST is incorporating good sounding tone control circuits into our amplifiers. There are many guitarists out there, such as me, that play several different types of guitars in order to get the sounds they need. In conversations with many players over the years, we have found that one of the most common problems is getting a good balance between humbucker and single coil tones. Usually it is a compromise of "ok" tones at best and channel switching does not really resolve the problem either, especially when you need two different clean tones, etc. DST's new CONTOUR control is a simple to use single knob circuit that allows the player to quickly dial in humbucker tone or a single coil tone while leaving the bass-middle-treble tone controls set for your favorite overall color. The contour circuit works by allowing a simultaneous bass boost/treble cut at one extreme to a treble boost/bass cut at the other. The center is a true bypass or "neutral" position that gives an uncolored tone.
